Overall, the trip probably cost less this way than staying at Temecula's finest, the Three Seasons Hotel, for a couple of nights. No doubt she'd refuse a stay at the Better Western or a Three Points. Nonetheless, I do recall when I was a youngster in Southern Cal that a lot of alte cockers would go to Murietta (probably driving the old CDVs or SDVs where you could just see some hair but not the whole face when looking into the car) to sit in the healing waters.

Most any respectable wino I know who has visited the wineries has liked the visit, but hasn't loved the wine.
