Just booked flights for July in business via the United app. It let me choose seats when booking but when the confirmation came it noted no seat assignment could be made and seats would be assigned at check in. I next tried via the Austrian Airlines website and got pretty much the same message. I know that the cabin is currently wide open, but I’d like to be sure to snag a single odd numbered row seat, and I know those will fill up.

Any advice?
