Sorry it’s not working for others, it’s worked for me countless times on any/all of code share partners with AA from JL to QR to BA to B6, including on QR, JL and B6 in the last few weeks. Maybe y’all are booking seats that don’t come with seat selection?
Did you try just “9” instead of “009” for the flight number? I was on flight 1 SFO-HND and just entered “1” as the flight number. We were in J on this outbound and this worked on the JL site. Same for our return in F. Both booked with AA miles. The QR example above is a cash ticket but worked exactly the same way on the Qatar website so it’s not likely a cash vs award situation.

When you book JL flights with AA miles it books as JL flight numbers. I just did this last month SIN-NRT-BOS on JL in J using AA miles and all flights were JL marketed and I was able to access the reservation on JL’s website with no issues and select seats.
This time it’s a cash J ticket booked through AA and the JL flights are AA codeshares (AA flight #’s). Though there is a JL record locator under the JL flights I cannot pull it up on the international JL website. The difference is when it’s JL flight numbers vs JL flights with AA codeshare flight numbers.
