It appears the planned Kimpton Al Rowda Doha will not come to fruition; instead, IHG now lists the unbranded but affiliated Abesq Doha Hotel & Residences in its place. Seems a shame to lose the Kimpton branding so close to the opening, and now I'm curious what this one will slide under, if at all [ahem, Alpengold Davos]. More than likely the first Vignette in the region?
