AMS is the best to make a correspondance at (hence KLM) assuming they get their act together this summer.
The problem with AMS last year was not so much correspondences, but lines for check-in and security. Transfer passengers do not have to bother about that. Given industrial action in Germany and France as indicated by others I would agree AMS may be the safer transfer option.
