EVs in any type of multi-charging scenario start to really eat time, and it's a lot more than 15% imo--just look at what people are having to do to charge up before returning their cars. Single metro they are great, but one or two hops beyond that metro and they really become a time sink ime.
Now I'm curious - were you going through ABQ because it was winter and you were trying to avoid SLC or DEN? Because detouring that far south adds about 300 miles to the trip.
