With that said, cross-country driving is definitely not where EVs shine.
I actually had free supercharging at the time and pretty much only hit superchargers except destination chargers for overnights. While charging times might have jumped, even here in the bay area, it's not common to have 60kwh charging, so I'm sure that the expansion has somewhat been negated by more cars on the road. The longest stretch I believe was about 120mi--that segment to Albuquerque. Otherwise, it was fairly easy to go 60mi between charges. Still, took time though--no way around that.

EVs in any type of multi-charging scenario start to really eat time, and it's a lot more than 15% imo--just look at what people are having to do to charge up before returning their cars. Single metro they are great, but one or two hops beyond that metro and they really become a time sink ime.
