Soft product definitely goes to NH. I also prefer NH's "The Room" to the Polaris seat. Haven't flown NH's regular J seat, but from pictures it would appear that Polaris is better. For what its worth, I do prefer Polaris lounges to NH's Lounges (the ramen was cool, but aside from that preferred the Polaris experience).
But if you have an ANA J/F ticket departing from a Polaris-containing airport, you can enter the Polaris lounge by virtue of holding a transoceanic Star Alliance J/F ticket, so United J vs. ANA J for the departure lounge shouldn't be a deciding factor.
