AF also has V bucket return open and same VHW57NMZ fare (but as AF filing instead of DL), but outbound flights have T open and THW47NML fare on outbound. Although there are a number of differences in fare class hierarchies between carriers.

There are cheaper seasonal fares for travel on/after July 11th for $1037 roundtrip. They are NLN87NBX AF fares and TLN87NBX DL fares. Note that AF Economy Light fares will earn DL Skymiles, while DL Basic Economy fares do not (such as the DL fares below even when flying on AF metal).

Yes what you both say seems to be confirmed. The price of this ticket dropped a few hours ago to $1706 when booked by Delta, and to $1780 when booked by AF. The Delta website said "1 left at this price".
So I went ahead and bought the gift cards and booked it.
I was now expecting for the price to jump back to the economy fare (since no more economy light fares should be available).
However now this ticket is still at $1706 from both Delta and AF, and Delta now says there are 4 left at this price. This doesn't make much sense though, I find it a bit unlikely that a family of 4 just cancelled its tickets..
