Told the refund would appear on my cc within 5 days. Now, no refund but a 'credit for another flight' for each of us to be used within a year. How can I escalate this or how long should I be patient and hope my cc gets recredited (cc is Citibank AA).
Has it been 5 days yet? If not, maybe wait 5 days?
I recently cancelled a ticket for a refund. It immediately showed up as a flight credit. 2 days later my CC was refunded and the credit disappeared.
A flight credit is nothing more than a ticket with funds on it. It will show up in your account until the ticket has been refunded. This is a little bit clunky as far as user experience goes (these tickets should either be hidden or show up with something that says "refund pending") but it works.
