My only recent gripes with preboarding have involved not having a clear path for preboarders to use--when both BG1 and BG2 lanes are crammed with pax lined up, at many gates it is hard for anyone called to preboard to find a way to the gate--and GAs sometimes forgetting to call part of the preboarding groups (e.g. going straight from "active duty military" to BG1). These are minor issues most of the time.

I dunno... I have had many European boarding experiences on LH-group airlines where the moment we get close to boarding, everyone surges toward the gate. The call for F and *G pax might or might not occur, but in the meanwhile, every person wants on board at once, and the GAs don't exactly do a great job of separating them.
