For schedule changes, it’s basically either or. When you get notified of the schedule change, you can either take the refund then or find a new itinerary. Once you’ve found a new flight and changed to that, you can only cancel and get an E-credit.
TL;DR Once you have changed to a new flight, you can’t get a refund.
