You might get an instant approval and all that worry will have been (gratefully) for naught. If it goes to “pending” or “under review” you could chose to make a preemptive recon (reconsideration) call or wait for approval or decline and then chose to make recon call or not. In that call, be honest but put the best possible spin on your honesty: you’re just getting stated with a second line of work, have expenses (video and computer equipment) but no income yet.

Ultimately Chase will approve or decline YOU (not your "business") for a business card. Once you do get the business card(s) don’t worry about what to charge on them, there are no reports of adverse action for charging “personal” expenses on a business card. There are also no reports of anyone being shutdown by Chase following an unsuccessful biz application. Good luck, we all had a first business card.

(* “notional”: a word I learned here a year or 2 ago, I thought my biz credentials were “flimsy” or “marginal”, now I know they’re notional. )
Thank you Dr Jabadski for the detailed note! After a second thought, I decided to go for the 75k Venture X and the coming 90k CSP offer as I closed my CSR a few years ago. But thanks a lot for sharing your experience!

Although I dont have a biz card yet, it sounds great to build a biz.card portfolio in the future. If you dont mind, can I ask how does a "notional" business work? Does it mean you registered multiple business with little income? Thanks again!
