No menus handed out but I think the options were Traditional Breakfast, Mushroom Omelette or Charcuterie. I'd eaten in the lounge beforehand so opted for the light option. The charcuterie turkey slices were very dry and the 1/8th of an egg made me chuckle. The croissant was probably the best part!
There were a couple of champagne top ups immediately after the service but once the trays were cleared very little else. I used my call bell just before the pilot's 30 min PA to ask for some water as my row mate in the aisle seat was asleep and it was duly ignored to the point the call light was still on when we landed.
BA677 IST-LHR Dinner
There was no bar service and drinks were served after the meal.
Crew were proactive with water and champagne top ups throughout the flight but the snack basket was nowhere to be seen.
My comments on this are probably best suited to the other thread on inconsistency in service patterns but... barring some extenuating circumstances there is no reason not to do a bar run on a flight from Istanbul. I would assume crew laziness. Yes I know it’s a long duty, but it’s a long boring flight for passengers too; a bar round or two helps while away the time.
In terms of the call bell remaining resolutely - let’s be charitable and say not ignored but - unanswered I am afraid that is my experience over and over again.
As for the ‘charcuterie plate’ I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
