Trying to book a Marriott Protea. Went through the normal booking procedure on the Marriott website, entered card details and booking seemed to complete successfully.
At the time of booking I thought it was odd that my credit card did not get charged for the advanced purchase booking.
Later I got an email from Protea requesting deposit payment within 1 day.
I clicked the link in the email which took me to TravelBuy Payment Gateway however when I try to pay I get a "Sorry, your payment could not be processed (Error 2003)." error.
Anyone with similar experience or advice on how to proceed?
I went through the same set of steps, with the exact same error at the standalone Protea JNB (not the transit one) for a couple one-night stays bookending my trip a month ago. First time they sent me multiple deposit requests and then a couple days before arrival a different PDF form to fill out and send in. Second time they sent me the TravelBuy deposit requests and after still erroring out didn't bother with the PDF. Both stays had no issues, stayed on the Marriott website the entire time, and I think still ending up charging the card I used to make the reservations.
