Correct. You cancel the flight (before the travel date to prevent no-show) but you don't cancel the ticket (it can be cancelled later if needed), i.e. the ticket is still in the system/on hold for later rebooking. You use same PNR when you rebook (sometimes the agents ask for the ticket No instead so have that ready as well when you call)
A 5min schedule change is not enough to rebook for free. It needs to be more than 15 min
let's say if one day before the flight, there's no change of the schedule, can I still cancel it and asking on hold? would there's any fees for cancel the flight on hold for later rebooking? thanks
