We are Delta Skymiles members and prefer to fly with them when possible but not always if we find a different airline has similar availability with better pricing.

Our dilemma for this trip is that American Airlines/Qatar Airways (One World Alliance) offers their elite Q-Suite business class product for $2,600 one way. However with that route going East and accounting for layover time in Doha, we would not arrive in Bali until an entire two days after our first wheels up. Alternatively, Delta Airlines/Korean Airlines (SkyTeam) offer the Korean Air Prestige Business class product for $3,900 one way. This route obviously goes West through Seoul and would only be 24 hours of travel. We are caught in between wanting the cost savings of the AA/Qatar option and the opportunity to experience Q Suite with a stopover in Doha. We would make an AAdvantage account and collect miles, but if we flew Delta/Korean we would get about 25K sky miles which would be more valuable to us as we use Delta more often. We would also get to Bali much quicker. But Flying the Western route is an extra $1,400 and would not be the same lavish experience as we would get in Q Suite.

Given these pros and cons, what would you recommend? Thanks!
