There's lots of other things to complain about -- this isn't one of them, I can't recall any Hampton Inn breakfast. The coffee is always terrible and almost everything is just sugar and carb bombs unless you get lucky and they stock some decent yogurt and fresh fruit.

As long as the hotel stocks enough food/coffee that you are still able to get what you paid for, who cares about the rest? If they are losing money on the "freeloaders" that is on the hotel to figure out an enforcement mechanism.
