Seen some comment on twitter that it was technical and looks like the planned onward leg FCO - LGW as 2645D has now been cancelled based on BA's flight tracker. Was G-MIDX which presumably will be in FCO until they fix the issue if it was tech.
I have often wondered why a diverted flight has to have a suffix after it when it resumes its journey...
The main thing is that nobody was hurt as the result of this incident - so it appears
