no crabbiness, dear, even amongst the snide barbs. but since you asked (why?):
i posted a review (wouldn't characterize it as full on 'ecstatic', i pointed out some real shortcomings and called the hotel a 'surprise' in my title), and the first response ascribed conclusions to me that were not supported st all in my review.

i found this frustrating - and didn't want anyone glancing through to think that short response was in any way a capsulation of my actual review. this isn't a matter of taking offense to someone's else's differing opinion, it's a matter of being misrepresented.

and now that this has been safely banished to the 'non-luxury' hilton confines, all should be right again in the FT universe.

for those interested in the actual hotel, here's my own encapsulated TLDR:
while not representing the very.tiptop end of LA luxury hotels, the conrad offers a really great option for those wanting to be in DTLA. the finishes and facilities are beautiful, the rooms large for a city hotel, the service attentive and discreet.
