Rented from one of National's NYC locations twice in the last month. Both times, because it was same price as Full Size and cheaper than any SUV option, I reserved Premium car, expecting a Maxima.

The first time I was indeed designated a Maxima (2020, with high mileage) but was told there was a brand new 2023 VW Taos I could grab instead, which I did, and which worked out really well.
The second time I was wordlessly upgraded to a brand new 2023 BMW X5 with under 5k miles on it (and my impression is there were a few more X5s from where it came from)
