I typically book travel directly through the airline but am considering getting an Amex card that rebates points when travel is booked through Amex travel.

I have heard a ton of nightmares about working with OTAs if anything goes wrong or needs to be changed.

Im curious if folks can inform me as to their experience when using AS through an OTA. Can normal AS customer service do anything for me? How much hassle am I signing up for if I book via a third party?
