You really need to claim the $100 while you’re still at the property. I was at a Sheraton in the PNW last night and on arrival I was not offered breakfast in the restaurant as a welcome amenity. I asked twice about breakfast in the restaurant as my welcome amenity as Titanium. I was denied both and they insisted it was only breakfast in the lounge.
I went upstairs to my room to double check the Marriott website and went downstairs to talk to a front desk manager. Turns out the agent who checked me in was the manager. I showed her the website. She insisted several times she offered me breakfast but I pointed out the language is pretty clear. Breakfast in the restaurant is a guaranteed welcome gift. Anyways a little back and forth and she offered me the breakfast in the restaurant and I basically said that’s too late. I wasn’t offered at check in, I’ve had this happen at this location before and I wanted to claim the compensation. She said she wouldn’t give me cash but would reduce my room cost. Since this was a personal stay I took it. Screws me out of a few points but it covered half my room cost and has a huge suite upgrade with no SNA needed so I took it.
key is pull up the Marriott website. Politely tell them what you expect based on the brand rules and be firm. Ours was a pleasant exchange and I was happy with the compromise. Had this been a work stay I would have insisted on the cash.
