I usually stay at Marriott's "high end" properties if I stay at a Marriott at all, no upgrades for me as titanium. I stayed at a Courtyard and was ceremoniously informed that I as a titanium was "upgraded" to a same category, same size standard room... but with a bathtub. At Hyatt as a globalist I routinely get upgraded to premium suites that are not supposed to be part of the upgrade pool.

Satisfaction with low expectations only make loyalty programs deteriorate faster than they already do.
And, I'm routinely upgraded at Marriott vs. not upgraded to premium suites at Hyatt. In fact, last night, I was upgraded from a base room to the nicest suite in the hotel at the Amman Marriott. I would consider myself lucky to be upgraded to any sort of suite at Hyatt as properties prove time and time again to me that Globalist doesn't matter. Ambassador status definitely matters as I can be treated well in a country and property I am visiting for the first time.
