upgrades in the US are non-existent. The only time I get upgraded is Asia. India, Thailand and China are good. Other than that the status is good for a muffin and maybe some local nonsense.

To be fair, my backup is IHG. I do not stay at as many high end properties with IHG but when I do I get equally screwed. If you want something, buy it. The idea that any company will give you something for nothing is insane. The best upgrades I get are from the hotels I stay at the most. Its not because the hotel cares about me being titanium so much as I spend a lot of money with them.

I don't want to have to beg or ask or even hint that I should get an upgrade. If it is available, great. If not then shame on me for not buying the suite in the first place.
