Of the 14 nights I've stayed in hotels so far this year, 12 of them were complimentary upgrades. Mostly to suites (three full service Sheraton stays, two RI stays in Philly where I often stay.) I will say that for my last Sheraton stay, I had to do some persistent nudging for the upgrade. But in the end, I got the suite for the 5 nights without using an SNA. I had booked the best regular level room, so a suite would be the next level.
