Think B6 (JetBlue) flies lie-flat equipment from LAX to BOS. Just do that.

A connection would add several more hours to the trip unnecessarily. As mentioned, your trip would not qualify for United Polaris lounge, the United Club (UC) in Boston is actually pretty good, so there is not much added value to the UC at Newark.

In summary: nonstop.
