To be fair, if I drop my own fork on the ground at home, I might very well pick it up and keep using it. It depends when the Bravaa last ran, what the area looks like, etc.
But if I dropped
someone else's fork on the ground, it would get replaced.
Making that decision for yourself is absolutely fine. Making it for someone else is not.
