Just reporting back that, contrary to the advice received above, I did in fact get the business class hotel (assuming Skylight is still the business class hotel)
Skylight is used for both Business and Economy pax, so you got lucky on a slow day probably. The only station that seems to give hotel preference to *G passengers is Mumbai.
