Hence the advice often touted in this forum to check that you have a ticket number in the App, and if OLCI does not work then to check this and ring BA if there is no 125 number visible. I'm guessing you didn't OLCI, but that's mostly how it is caught.

Some of the aftermath of this problem can be terrible, and it's usually infrequent travellers who get this, so yes I'm sure you were unimpressed by the 30 minutes to fix comment, but it is actually correct!
Regarding the ticket number in the app, does it must be shown on every single flight in a booking to be sure everything is all right?
I have at least one multi city booking, a mix of BA and AA flights on a BA ticket, where I can see the ticket number for the BA flight but none shown for the AA flights. I'm using the Android version of the app.
