I agree. As someone still waiting for my passport record to show closeout/fulfillment/printed/mailed, I find it odd why there are no clear directions on the application page what are the steps in the process and the corresponding status markers. Perhaps it is related to having two different systems operating at the same time (online and mail in), but still it would seem easy to provide useful guidance about the process to applicants.
