Authenticator works well on BA's wifi even though some of my younger colleagues seem to regard it as a form of torture. But that apart, Wifi on aircraft is absolutely fantastic! It makes flights pass so quickly and all sort of things you never get the time to sort out can be dealt with, and before you know it you are landing. Plus Flyertalk of course. I would guess the number of FT posts I've made from BA's wifi must now run into thousands. I can well imagine that if you are in WT or (e.g..) a defective seat, Wifi really helps to give a more pleasant experience. But yes the failure rate on BA's wifi is much higher than I would like, yes it's unrealistic over the North Pole, relying on availability isn't sensible. I just get the impression that BA doesn't really try to make wifi more reliable, compared to USA airlines, and thus is throwing their investment away.

Typically heading to the US I will work for 4 hours and use the rest of the time for food and one film.
I normally ask IT to switch off MFA for the trip avoiding the need to buy WIFI for my phone as well as my laptop.
If there ever was an issue with WIFI it would be great to know before the flight so that I can download documents that I need to work on.
Thanks for the input! I guess I work I'm in a rather unfortunate situation, for MFA is non-negotiable in my job and some tasks/tools require Citrix unfortunately.
C-W-S' point on BA's WiFi is interesting. I don't know enough about it to understand whether it is managed by the supplier, a bit like a power-by-the-hour arrangement where RR or GE owns the engines, or whether it is BA Engineering dealing with it. It'd be interesting to know.

On the question of WiFi, it’s absolutely great when it works and very frustrating when it doesn’t. I tend not to have problems with 2FA as I use authentication apps where possible which avoids the need for text messages. I tend to have access across all my devices inflight using a personal WiFi router but when service becomes patchy it’s a lot better to switch to another task for a period of time rather than battle with it. I have becomes a bit spoiled with gate-to-gate WiFi on AA flights which is streets ahead of BA’s offering.
JIRA now has the 2FA via an app, but for some reason on SharePoint (and therefore all our MS tools) it seems that I need to either be called, or texted... which is a pain.
