All the above is correct. I always book on the AA codeshare number as it generally results in more LPs but your mileage may vary.

Check in at the Qatar counter to get a Qatar boarding pass. If you have an aa boarding pass (or a one world ticket stock boarding pass) (perhaps if you checked in previously), still go to the agent to get a Qatar boarding pass.
