I just came back yesterday from a JNB roundtrip, where I had seat 81K in the upper deck rear minicabin both ways on the A380 overnight flights. I really like the upper deck window seats with the storage lockers.
On my outbound I was on BA 55 (departs LHR 18:20) and both the pre-dinner drinks and the actual dinner were served relatively quickly. I came back on BA 54 (departs JNB 22:15) and there we had a fantastic dinner service in the minicabin. There were no pre-dinner drinks, but the meal service started right after takeoff. After the trolleys had gone to the front, one FA stayed in the minicabin and served us dinner straight from the galley (felt like First Class). For drinks (other than the water bottle coming with the dinner tray) we had to wait for the trolleys to come, although one gentleman went to the galley himself to get some wine. I had finished my meal before the drink trolleys arrived, but I was asleep within an hour of takeoff.
