Frankly, I consider misleading to state that miles don’t expire when after three years they will be forfeited. They don’t expire in the sense of some programs where you have a certain fixed period to use them (like milk), but that’s not how expiration is used by many programs.
Thank you both for the heads up. We have miles that would expire become inactive this summer. We weren't planning much air travel this year, and for what travel we will have, expected to fly United because of status. Might have to take an extra trip to maintain these miles. Oh well, there are worse things!
