I booked airline tickets using UR for trip to CTA(catania sicily).I did not have enough points to cover the whole amount and had to charge about $250 to the CSR card. Does that activate the travel insurance?

My husband has his own UR points through a chase biz credit card account and was able to cover his ticket completely with points leaving some in his account. Does the travel insurance cover his trip?

I am trying to figure out if I need to buy separate travel insurance and how that would work to make a claim if the tickets were purchased with points( mostly or completely)
