two completely different animals in very different locations.

haven't stayed at oceana in a very long time. since before it was part of hilton's LXR group. but unless they've moved it, it's located in santa monica, and as such, is a very beachy hotel. unless they've changed room layout, it's also 'all suite'. it was an excellent hotel back in the day - for a long while, really one of only 2 or 3 luxury properties in santa monica along with miramar and casa, but that situation's changed - but can't speak to the last decade+.

conrad is about as far from a beach in LA as you can get. it's located downtown, very much an 'urban' hotel. it's a high rise. has all room categories.

they really couldn't be more different. depends whether you want urban/highrise/commanding views vs beach/low-slung/airy.
