I wonder how many people miss out on stays if they don’t diligently check their accounts.
My guess is a lot, or at least miss out on points. Of my last 8 stays 6 didn’t have the full amount!! 4 didn’t have bonus points the hotel offered (X amounts per night or per stay), 2 didn’t have the welcome amenity, 1 didn’t have the “here are 750 extra points because we don’t feel like opening our lounge because of COVID”, and 1 because they for some reason felt like not giving me points on a $600 dinner. Some had more than 1 problem but 6 in total had an issue.
It’s absolutely ridiculous. I rarely have problems with Hyatt or Hilton. I just got Titanium again so I’m done with the Bonvoy program for the year. I’ll still stay at some Marriott but will use other reward programs as I’m tired of not getting the points and how hugely devalued they have become.
