We're arriving CGK (8 Mar '24), staying one night, then leaving just after midnight (10Mar) for SOQ. We have to be there by the morning of 11 Mar for boat pick-up.

Prices on GA seem much higher than Batik:

GA OW CGKSOQ USD $368 PP
ID OW CGKSOQ USD $116 PP

A difference of $252 per person!

On the return, we have to take GA to SIN via CGK (USD $556 PP), so we can connect easily in the same day; I'd love to save a bit on the CGKSOQ portion.

I understand Batik is a low-cost carrier and know what to expect. I can survive a 4-hour red-eye with minimal services. My main concern is dependability and checked baggage allowance. Seemingly, they allow 20kg, even with their promotional fares (anyone who has info on this, please chime in), which would be adequate.

Also, perhaps weirdly, when I was initially inquiring as to fares with GA, I chatted online with res and the fare seemed significantly lower than on their site. I didn't end up booking it because there was a snafu with entering the CC online, but I was wondering if there are ways to get a lower fare, without going thru a third party site, which I usually avoid.

The taxes that GA breaks down on their site seem high.
