Quick Trip to Ontario - Air Canada Business Class YEG - YYZ

I had to take a quick trip back to Ontario to go and visit with my grandfather who had a nasty tumble. It has been a while since I had seen him. So a quick visit to Air Canada's website got me some flights booked with Aeroplan points and we were off to the races.

Route:

The routing on this one would be pretty simple. Edmonton - Calgary - Toronto - Edmonton.

I have a bad habit of booking very early morning flights. Thankfully departure day the weather was decent and it was a quick 35 minute drive down to the airport. I had booked my parking at the Valu park. It is a bit more expensive than some other options but I like that you can walk directly thru the parking garage to get into the Airport. No need for a shuttle. I hate waiting for Airport Shuttles so this is well worth the extra $20 in my view.

I was going carry on only today so I went right thru security and due to my NEXUS card I was thru in less than 2 minutes. The regular security line looked like it was about a 10 minute wait. Still not bad for early morning.

My first flight was down to Calgary so no lounge access. I did however go and grab a nice Cappuccino from Starbucks for the much needed caffeine infusion.

Boarding for our short flight down to Calgary started right on time.

Flight #1
YEG - YYC
Bombardier Dash 8 Q400
Stated Departure Time: 0745
Actual Departure Time: 0739
Stated Arrival Time: 0839
Actual Arrival Time: 0844

It was a frosty morning in Edmonton so the first stop of the day was the de-icing pad for a quick spray. Take off was quick and smooth. I am always impressed with how quickly the Dash 8 gets up in the air.

I forgot to take a picture of the aircraft but got a few pictures inside.

Much better than the pretzels. We fell in love with these cookies when we lived in Europe.

About twenty minutes out from landing in Calgary. You tend to get a nice view flying as they only go up to 20 000 feet.

A nice shot of the engine.

And our landing in Calgary

All in all not a bad flight. My seat mate was a portly gentleman, which kind of sucked a bit space wise, but at only 33 minutes in the air I really cant complain.

Next up, Calgary to Toronto in business class.
