As someone who has flown out of Punta Cana, numerous times, good luck. I would suggest you be prepared to pick up your luggage and recheck it. I don’t think they’re going to understand how to do this. They are far from the best trained employees i have ever seen.
The tag should say ITI automatically if qualifies. Only thing agent needs to do is add the purple ITI tag, which all international stations should have. (Even if they dont have the purple tag, as long as bag tag says ITI on it, it will transfer, the purple tag just makes easier for staff to identify)
