The 781 on this route was definitely a pleasant surprise. Wonderful aircraft fitted with stylishly comfortable seats. The cauliflower soup was excellent and the main course of braised beef cheeks was delicious.
Dessert of apple crumble was ok.
Lite meal upon arrival was mediocre, with the bbq chicken sandwich tasting straight out of can.
Over all food was acceptable.
Service however wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t very good either. It’s as if they were simply going through the motions. They ask what you want, you answer what you need, nothing more, nothing less. You want a glass of Diet Coke. That’s simply what you get. No inquiry if you want another glass, let alone ice on it. It just seemed lethargic, not lazy, just disinterested.
Approach to PDX was incredibly stunning, with sunshine and fresh rare snow on the ground, putting an exclamation point to the experience.

Did you fly back from PDX? Wondering what the lounge was like, any queues during the departure process? and do you remember what you had eaten flying back? Cheers
