Like placing Air Tags or similar technology in my bag, unless prohibited by federal law due to known safety risk, I am fully comfortable ignoring these crew member instructions even if it leads to violations of German law, where I am not a resident or citizen because the REAL reason the crew wanted this done had nothing to do with privacy, but rather to hide the aftermath of a violent turbulence experience - and it's just as clear as their motive trying to ban Air Tags, because they are being caught with their pants down trying to hide issues with lost bags the airline itself has no idea how to track.
