Viasat deployment of Viasat-3 satellites is supposed to be complete in a couple years (they are several years behind schedule) which should provide full international satellite coverage. Right now, airlines only seem to be deploying Viasat on narrowbody short-haul aircraft because of the limited international coverage. Don't know about UA, but DL will be deploying it all their aircraft except RJ's and their smaller short-haul mainline equipment. Once deployed on widebodies, they plan on making it free along with the narrowbody aircraft where it is already being deployed and offered free (they are stating by the end of 2024).
