If it had been a reroute, class change or anything else that needs a ticket reissue, chances are there wouldn’t have been. But a direct move from one BA flight to the next for a passenger with no bags is an easy manoeuvre that doesn’t need ticketing skills. Any gate agent at LHR would be trained to do it.
