My mental model is that the “First Class Upgrade” column basically just says “book me in a higher fare class” only - refer to https://www.alaskaair.com/content/mi...ntary-upgrades - in our case as 100Ks, I would interpret the column as saying “show the cheapest Y B H K or M fare” and nothing more
