Because you will be there and will be provided your benefits, we would not also provide the same benefits to your guest.”

This last part (in bold font) I believe is the Hyatt customer care agent’s interpretation of the T&C, which I do not agree with. But I am not sure if there is much I could do at this point.
In general I think front-line agents are useless. Hyatt has replaced (or maybe they left themselves) so many customer service people that most of the new ones don't know much.
Even many concierges aren't up to snuff, so you can imagine how it is with just a general agent.
