My concern (and probably hers, after I've told her to anticipate a delayed flight) is how to get/pay for transportation after dark in Beirut, if her party isn't there to meet her at the airport. The country deals in black market cash...i guess she should bring US $5 and $10 and $20?, in addition to the $100 she will have stored in a money belt? She's supposed to be going to a co-worker's home. Anyway, at least if there is a >6 hour delay the Trip Insurance will kick in and pay her for some (limited) inconvenience.
Try to tell the transit desk the worries she has, and ask TK to book her into a flight the next day instead.
Also, when she check-in, ask the check-in desk to see if the flight is going to be late, and ask the agent there to see if they have the authority to rebook her at ORD.
