I can’t see that happening in my lifetime. BA may be prepared to antagonise cabin crew every few years, but for decades they’ve scrupulously avoided confronting their ground handlers. Too scared of the consequences.
This despite innumerable examples of unacceptable practices. Going back 20 or 30 years I remember BA’s handling staff responding to the partial automation of T1’s baggage system by repeatedly (and no doubt accidentally) driving tugs into the control electronics. I could go on, but it’s all too depressing.
Unless some external (regulatory) action is taken I can’t see BA doing anything different. After all, this thread is proof that despite the poor service we continue to fly with BA. That’s the real competition issue at Heathrow, despite the focus on HAL.
