It should be a national disgrace that Heathrow is world leading in terms of passenger fees (and constantly asks for more), yet then manages to fail delivering a product that is remotely world leading. I see the challenges that come with operating at 95+% capacity, but while nothing can be done in terms of weather, spare capacity could be built into staffing levels. If a company operates a monopoly, it needs tough regulation from competition authorities - that seems not to be a thing in the UK.
Incorrect.
At T5 BA are responsible for stand allocation, opération of stand guidance and airbridges, baggage handling etc etc. None of this is down to HAL as the airport operator.
It’s about time the competition authorities started investigating how BA gets away with providing poor ground services at Heathrow year after year. Other LHR airlines seem to manage much much better.
HAL is by no means perfect but let’s be honest about where the real problems are.
